Have you ever heard of a living fossil before?
A living fossil is an organism that existed during (or even before) the time of the dinosaurs and still exist today! Usually they have not changed much during all of that time. One example is crocodiles - they made their first appearance 220 million years ago! There are many different types of living fossils, and they are not just animals but plants too. These living fossils are a cool peak into the past and can teach us a lot about the world. Many of these living fossils are species that are more common than you would expect and might even live in your neighborhood! I challenge you to look up and learn more about living fossils and see how many you have near you!
